In a major move, the State government has decided to promulgate an Ordinance for licence cancellation of rent-a-bike and car operators using private vehicles for commercial use.
The decision was taken during a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to review the progress of border check post infrastructure and enforcement readiness with the IGP, DGP, Transport Director and others.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister directed the transport department to initiate an ordinance for licence cancellation of rent-a-car/bike operators using private vehicles for commercial use.
During the meeting, Sawant assessed infrastructure readiness at Patradevi & Keri and Mollem & Polem check post by PWD.
"Discussed land availability for developing wayside public amenities and IOCL petrol pumps and reviewed application development progress by ITG and rollout plans by SP Traffic," the CMO said.
The meeting also deliberated on public notification strategy, automated border monitoring, and integration with VAHAN.
Sawant also directed police to ensure that as part of the green initiative “Ek Ped Ma Ke Naam” is implemented at all police stations.
"CM stated that the Goa Government is working to build a seamless, transparent and citizen-friendly mobility and enforcement ecosystem at Goa’s borders," CMO said.
