A 38-year-old worker from Apeval-Priol got hurt when he came in contact with electricity while fixing a roadside transformer in Dhavali-Ponda around 10.30 am on Wednesday.
This is the second time a worker got hurt just days after a 34-year-old worker from Gaonkarwada-Pilgao got shocked when he was fixing a problem on top of an electricity pole at Vhalshi-Bicholim on April 19.
According to reports, the worker, Upendra Naik, had climbed up the electricity pole to fix the transformer in Dhavali-Ponda.
At that time, two out of the three fuses of the transformer were removed. One fuse was not taken out, and Upendra Naik got an electric shock while fixing the problem.
He fell onto the mesh fence around the transformer. He was taken to the district hospital in Margao for treatment. The worker hurt his hand, and his condition improved by the evening. Ponda Police has conducted a panchnama of the incident.
