With Christmas and the New Year celebrations around, officials of the state excise department, who are on the prowl, seized a tempo carrying Goan liquor and arrested a person from Goa.
The raids were carried out early Sunday morning in Camp area at 4.30 am. Acting on a specific information, a Tata goods carrier (KA 09 A 4899) was raided and 10 boxes of beer and 14 boxes of Goa made liquor were seized from the vehicle. Driver Mahesh Irappa Mangalwadkar from Goa was arrested and produced before the court.
