Asserting that United Team Goa will defeat BJP at the hustings, Goa Forward Party Chief Vijai Sardesai has warned Chief Minister Pramod Sawant that he will be consigned to the dustbin of history if his government goes with the diktats of his bosses in Delhi.
The Goa Forward Party President said he was glad to have the opportunity on the floor of the House to voice out the strong concern and opposition of the people of Goa as “this government under the leadership of Sawant has become deaf to the cries and rallies of the people who are simply saying enough is enough.”
He said the government was cornered over the river Mhadei issue, track-doubling and the three linear projects. “The Assembly session has given the people clear proof that this government is on a fast track to sell Goa.”
Reflecting on the business of the four days of the Assembly session, he said, “Most of us think we are here to discuss and debate the priorities we think are important to the people, but in reality the government is discussing how to destroy people’s livelihoods.”
He pointed out that the Opposition kept standing up for division during voting on several articles of legislations saying, “Team Goa has guts to fight this undemocratic Team BJP.” He added: “We had only raised placards, but what the CM did by arresting our children on Liberation day was not only shameful and disgraceful “ but ruthless. Power has hit his head.”
“I had highlighted on the floor of the House that when people question the government, they trample on women. When youth question the government, they are arrested. When we question the government, we are anti-nationals. But if Adani and Jindal question the government, it runs to Delhi with answers,” he added.
Saying that the Pramod Sawant-led government is on the run, he said the corrupt Government wants to dismantle the institution of the Lokayukta so that no one stops the loot and plunder.
“More than Swayampurna Goem, we need to sustain Goa, as this Sawantwadi government is driving us to the pits of doom,” he said, while making a call to the people to come together “to sustain our present and protect our future, and together we must drive a movement to sustain Goa.”
