PONDA
Locals withdrew their ‘Rasta Roko’ agitation on Tuesday, after an assurance from government officials to install lights, signage and to paint the speed-breaker in front of the Deputy Collector’s office at Dharbandora.
The locals have, however, threatened to agitate on Thursday if their demands are not fulfilled by Wednesday.
Furious over a fatal accident on the speed-breaker which claimed the life of a female pillion rider on Monday, locals had decided to stop traffic at the site if necessary action was not taken to highlight the speed-breaker.
Deputy Collector Nilesh Dhaigodkar, PWD Assistant Engineer Anand Waghurmekar, Electricity Assistant Engineer Nilkanth Sawant, Mamlatdar Laxmikant Kurtikar and police officials intervened in the matter and assured of the appropriate action. Locals then withdrew the ‘Rasta Roko’ agitation.
