PORVORIM
Saligao MLA Kedar Naik has said residents of Reis Magos and Nerul will get sufficient water supply as one water pipeline has been laid from the PDA water tank to Reis Magos, while the second water pipeline has been laid from Reis Magos water tank to Nerul.
“Once the work of 15MLD water treatment plant at Pilerne is completed, water problems in Pilerne, Reis Magos, Saligao and Sangolda will be solved,” said Naik.
He was speaking at Pilerne after launching the work to hotmix the road from Pilerne junction to Alto-Pilerne in the presence of Pilerne-Marra Sarpanch Reshma Bandodkar, Dy Sarpanch Amarnath Govekar, ZP member Sandeep Bandodkar, panch member Santosh Bandodkar, former panch member Karan Govekar and the locals.
The MLA said the road from Pilerne panchyat junction to Alto-Pilerne is a shortcut to Porvorim for residents of Candolim and Pilerne.
“There is heavy traffic on this stretch of road. This 2-5 km road is being hotmixed at a cost of Rs 3.14 crore. Prior to announcement of Lok Sabha election, maximum roads in Pilerne, Sangolda and Sangolda will be hotmixed.”
Naik also said the work to lay underground cables at Reis Magos and Pilerne has been completed, while laying of underground electric cables in Sangolda and Guirim has been partially completely.
“Within the next one year, all the problems relating to power, water and roads will be resolved to the maximum extent,” said Naik.
Dy Sarpanch Amarnath Govekar said all internal roads in Pilerne were dug due to laying of underground electric cables.
“There was a persistent demand from residents to hotmix this road urgently prior to monsoon. Hence, hotmixing of these roads was of utmost importance,” said Govekar.
