Locals irked as
feast fair
draws crowds
CANACONA
The Feast of the Chaudi Church may have concluded over 10 days ago, but stalls at the fair continue to remain at the site and draw several customers, even as Covid cases have spiked in the taluka.
“The stalls at the fair were allowed to remain for a week, but most of the stalls are still allowed to remain at the site and the Canacona Municipal Council (CMC) has not taken any action in this matter,” complained a concerned resident.
“With a spike in Covid infections across the taluka, the CMC should have shut down the fair and this would have stopped many people from unnecessarily frequenting the fair.”
