Lockdown is inevitable: Churchill to CM

MARGAO
Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Benaulim MLA Churchill Alemao has urged Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to go for a 10-15 day lockdown on the lines of Mumbai to bring down Covid cases.

He said the CM should ramp up the Covid facilities, including ambulances, beds, ventilators and oxygen supply.

Addressing the media, the Benaulim MLA said the situation has taken frightening proportions with people dying every day. “I have lost three of my close supporters from Colva, including a former panch member. The government should go for an immediate lockdown on the lines of Mumbai to arrest the mounting cases and death of people in the state,” he said.

He requested Chief Minister to purchase additional 50 ambulances on priority, saying ambulances are not available to take patients to hospitals.
