The long-pending municipal project of the Chief Officer’s Bungalow may finally see the light of the day as the project has got the Naval NOC.
Speaking to reporters on Monday after launching the works on pavers at Mestawada in the presence of Ward Councillor Girish Borker and others, Vasco MLA Krishna Salkar said the plans of the project would be ready within a month and that the project would be taken up soon.
"The Chief Officer’s Bungalow has got the Naval NOC for construction and we have submitted it to the MPDA. Plans for this project will be ready and passed within a month," said Salkar.
Salkar said works on pavers had been taken under the 15th Finance Commission and that works were being taken across all 25 wards without any bias or partiality.
"Besides small works, we are trying to resolve the sewerage issues here and we have taken land from two private players to set up three sewage pumping stations (SPS) in the area. We have had sewerage lines but there were no pumping stations here and we will work to start this SPS at three locations after Monsoons thereby resolving the sewerage issues of Mestawada, Orulem and Belabai," said Salkar.
Ward councillor Girish Borker said the works under 15th Finance Commission had been taken up across his ward from Belabai to Orulem and finally in Mestawada.
"We will get the sewerage issues resolved. Sewerage lines have been put up and works on SPS will start after monsoons to resolve another issue permanently," said Borkar.
