Look at AAP as third serious option for State, urges Elvis

VASCO: South Goa LS candidate Elvis Gomes on Saturday said the Aam Aadmi Party was a serious option for people of Goa in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Gomes was in Vasco as a part of the programme “Drive With Elvis Gomes”, an AAP car and bike rally across South Goa with volunteers and supporters.

The starting point of the rally was Pilot Point, Vasco, at around 8.30 am on Saturday and the AAP had appealed to people to join them with cars or bikes at different points in the entire constituency.

Speaking to reporters, Gomes said the Pilot Point was chosen as the starting point because people wanted AAP to take up the issues of Mormugao Constituency.

“We will also be moving from Pilot Point to Dabolim, Salcete, Sanguem, Savordem, Curchorem and culminate the rally in Margao, where we will address our volunteers and supporters.

We will end our campaign on Saturday and begin door-to-door canvassing on Sunday, the last day of campaigning,” said Gomes.

“Our message to Goan voters is that there is a third serious option that they have in the form of AAP. Goans were usually stuck between only Congress and BJP as a choice for the LS elections, but today they have an option in AAP.”

“The BJP and Congress are hand in gloves to form governments in different places. The AAP has proved its work by forming a government and successfully running it in Delhi. This is the third and serious option that Goans have and we have proved that we can do a good job for people and take up development like never before,” said Gomes.

Speaking on pollution issues, Gomes said if the BJP had the will, they would have worked against the pollution factor caused due to handling of various cargo at MPT.

“Today, the governments in the state and the centre belongs to the BJP, but they have not made efforts against pollution and the BJP must admit this.”

“Their assurance to work on pollution control measures makes no sense at all when they have done nothing till date. If we come to power, we will work against pollution issues in Mormugao and keep up to our assurances made to the people,” said Gomes.
