Panaji: Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao has called on Labour & Employment Minister Atanasio Monserrate to clarify whether Indoco and Encube Ethicals notified their job vacancies on the Goa Employment Exchange portal. This comes amid controversy over walk-in interviews scheduled in Maharashtra by these two pharmaceutical companies, which have plants in Goa.
Alemao released a screenshot from the Government of Goa portal showing "No Vacancies available" for Encube Ethicals. He emphasized that it is mandatory for private firms to list job vacancies on the Employment Exchange portal. However, Alemao noted that while Encube Ethicals shows no available vacancies, there is also no clear information on the number of vacancies and positions at Indoco.
"This issue highlights the BJP government's lack of control over the recruitment processes of private companies in Goa," Alemao stated. He claimed there is no system to prevent companies from violating recruitment rules.
Alemao demanded that Minister Monserrate order a high-level inquiry into all recruitments by private companies in recent years and present the findings in the upcoming session of the Goa Legislative Assembly. "The public deserves to know the true employment situation in Goa's private sector," he said.
Alemao accused the government of misleading MLAs and the public with false information in the Legislative Assembly and described the much-publicized Mega Job Fair as a failure.
