As per the recently released fourth National Family Health Survey (NFHS) 2015-16, the number of obese people in the country has doubled in the last 10 years, with over 39.3 per cent people being obese in 2014-15 as against 21 per cent in 2004-05.
Alarmingly, 33.5 per cent women and 32.6 per cent men in Goa have been found to be overweight as compared to the national figures of 20.7 per cent and 18.6 per cent, respectively.
