Welcoming the stunning victory of the BJP-led coalition in Maharashtra, Congress-turned-BJP Margao MLA Digambar Kamat said the election verdict has shown which is real Shiv Sena and the Nationalist Congress Party in the neighbouring state and the state of affairs of the Congress party.
He also admitted that women voters by and large voted for the BJP-led Mahayuti by sending a message to the Congress-led coalition that they have rallied behind the Mahayuti for the Ladli Behna scheme.
Saying the BJP has created history in Maharashtra in the Assembly polls, Kamat said the Congress should do introspection why the party has struggled to reach 20 seats when they had set target to win 100 seats. “We can understand if the party had to lose a couple of seats from the set target of 100 seats. But, just imagine that the party struggled to win 20 seats,” he said.
Complimenting PM Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP President J P Nadda, besides Maharashtra DyCM Devendra Fadnavis for working systematically to register a historic victory, Kamat said the victory clearly shows that the common man and the poorest amongst the poor have benefited immensely under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the country.
On the other hand, he said the Congress was only seen on paper sans any leadership worth its name in Maharashtra.
Meanwhile, Navelim MLA Ulhas Tuenkar has said the people of Maharashtra have placed their trust and faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party leaders as evident by the huge mandate given to the BJP-led Mahayuti coalition.
