Industries Minister Mahadev Naik has lodged a complaint against Aam Aadmi Party candidate, Molu Velip, accusing him of offensive language against his spouse.

In his complaint, Naik stated that Velip used offensive language in his speech against his (Naik’s) wife at a meeting at Shiroda Bazaar on January 21.

According to Naik, the election observer has video recorded the speech and two persons have witnessed the incident.

Naik has asked the police to register the case under Sections 509 and 294 of IPC.

It may be recalled that a couple of days ago, Chaya Velip, wife of Molu Velip, had levelled similar allegations against Mahadev Naik.

Efforts to contact Molu Velip failed as he was not available. Ponda Police is investigating both the cases.
