BJP is the country’s only party to give 33 per cent reservation to women politically, BJP Mahila Morcha National President, Vanathi Srinivasan said on Sunday, while emphasising that irrespective of the gender, the party rewards honest and hardworking karyakartas.
Srinivasan also said that the BJP was the only national party that has vigorously worked towards women empowerment and offered various schemes for females across all age groups.
“We speak about 33 per cent reservation to women but when we work strongly and contribute largely to the party, this 33 percent is not just limited to this point. Party won’t see if it’s a man or a woman candidate. Ultimately, the party looks for a winnable candidate,” Srinivasan said.
The BJP Mahila Morcha National President was addressing the BJP Goa Mahila Morcha State executive at the Gomantak Maratha Samaj, Panaji.
The BJP State President Sadanand Tanavade, Mahila Morcha State in-charge Sulakshana Sawant and its President Sheetal Naik among hundreds of women karyakartas were present at the meet.
Srinivasan said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, women were the biggest beneficiaries of many schemes launched by the government.
“The BJP aims at empowering women. Whenever our Prime Minister contemplates launching a new initiative, he thinks about women empowerment. Under his government, we have 11 women ministers in the Central cabinet. Our daughters are winning medals for this country,” she said, in a press-note released here.
BJP Mahila Morcha National General Secretary Sukhpreet Kaur applauded the women karyakartas for their round the clock efforts and dedication towards the party. She maintained that women play a vital role at their respective homes as well as for the party.
“Women play a vital role and this is the strength of our sanghatan. So if a woman at home tells that BJP should be voted to power, the entire family votes for the party. Such is the reach of a woman,” Kaur said.
She also appreciated the State government’s efforts in controlling the Covid-19 situation within one week unlike the Delhi and Maharashtra governments which struggled to control the situation.
Kaur has further urged the women karyakartas in Goa to make their presence on social media platforms in order to publicise various schemes by the Modi government.
Earlier, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant welcomed BJP Mahila Morcha National President, Vanathi Srinivasan and General Secretary Sukhpreet Kaur on their visit to Goa and also addressed the gathering.
