MARGAO
The World Tribal Day will be celebrated on Monday, August 9, from 4 pm onwards at Conference Hall, Ravindra Bhavan, Margao.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, Tribal Welfare Minister Govind Gaude, besides Ramesh Tawadkar, Chairperson of Goa Commission for SC/ST and others will attend the programme.
The keynote address will be delivered by Dr Utkarsh Betodkar and Arvind Khutkar.
Dr Madhu Ghodkirekar will explain the significance of the theme titled ‘No one will be left behind’. Kalidas Bhomkar, Anil Makekar, Ratnakant Velip and others will be honoured on the occasion.
The day is aimed at promoting and protecting the rights of the world’s indigenous population.
