The Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC) will close the main road from Oddar-Xelvona leading to Curchorem market for 10 days from December 5.
According to notice issued by GSIDC, the road from St. Sebastian chapel, Oddar upto Fire station at Curchorem will remain closed for 10 days from December 5 to 15 to lay the spandrel for the second way for four lane new bridge over the river at Oddar which is under construction.
For the 10 days from December 5, people who are travelling on this road have to take a longer route of more than 4 kilometres via Kakumoddi or Tilamol villages to reach Curchorem.
It may be recalled that in June this year the first phase of the four-lane lane bridge was inaugurated by local MLA Nilesh Cabral.
The first phase of the estimated Rs 20-crore bridge was built by using the latest technology by installing prefabricated span within a period of 15 months and completion of the second phase was assured by December this year.
