Anjuna Police arrested a 39-year-old man for allegedly assaulting a 66-year-old man at Tar, Siolim, on Saturday night.
According to police, the incident occurred around 10 pm on August 22 when the accused, identified as Saulo alias Sachin Shirodkar, approached the complainant, Deepak Naik, (66), of Temb Waddo, Morjim, while riding an Ather electric scooter.
Police said Shirodkar allegedly assaulted Naik with a punch on his face while holding a hard object, causing a grievous injury to the complainant’s mouth region. The assault was reportedly linked to previous enmity arising from an earlier assault incident.
Anjuna Police registered an offence under Section 118(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Shirodkar, a resident of Dando, Siolim, was arrested late night on August 22. Further investigation is on.
