MARGAO:
The Cuncolim police have arrested a person from Cola, Canacona in connection with sexual assault that took place in Morpilla village in November last year.
The accused Girish Alias Nilesh Velip, R/o Cola, Canacona has been accused of confining the victim in her house by latching the door from inside.
It has been further alleged that the accused disrobed the complainant and forcefully had sexual intercourse with her and further threatened her if she dare to disclose to anyone.
During the investigation the accused person was arrested in the crime. He has been remanded to three days police custody by JMFC Quepem.
The Cuncolim police have booked the accused under section 65(1), 127(2), 351 (2) of BNS and section 8(2) The Goa Children's Act 2003, and 4, 12 The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012.
