A 70-year-old woman has complained of sexual assault by an accused by disrobing her clothes in an abandoned house in the jurisdiction of Margao police station.
This is a second incident wherein a senior citizen has been sexually assaulted in the Margao police sub-division. A week ago, an 83-year-old woman from Nuvem had complained of sexual assault by a person.
In a swift action, the Margao police have arrested one person in connection with the complaint lodged by the victim. In a complaint lodged with the police, the cousin sister of the victim woman stated that the accused person allegedly took the victim, around 70 years of age in an abandoned house under the pretext of cleaning the house and assaulted her with slaps and fist blows.
The complaint further alleged that the accused further had forcible sexual intercourse with the victim by disrobing her clothes.
Margao Police Station in-charge, PI Arun Desai informed that the police have arrested the accused person. Further investigations are underway.
