Man arrested for stabbing sister’s boyfriend near Dabolim bridge

Vasco police arrested a man on charges of assaulting and threatening a local resident in a violent confrontation near the Dabolim bridge in the early hours of December 8.

According to a complaint lodged by Ashpak Kador of New Vaddem, Vasco, the accused, identified as Seshant Rathod, also known as Shirsha, attacked him at around 5:30 am.

Rathod, who is reportedly displeased with Kador’s relationship with his sister, assaulted the complainant with slaps and blows before stabbing him on the left side of the abdomen with a broken glass bottle, inflicting injuries.

The accused also allegedly issued death threats during the altercation. Following the complaint, the police acted swiftly and arrested Rathod, who currently resides in Bogmalo.

The accused has been charged under Sections 352, 115(2), 118(2), and 351(3) of the BNS Act 2023. He was produced before the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC), Vasco, and has been remanded to three days in police custody for further investigation.

The investigation is being led by PSI Prisly Carvalho under the supervision of PI Kapil Nayak and the guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam.
