Land-filling activity at a property in Arossim in Mormugao has landed a local resident in trouble after officials of the Town and Country Planning (TCP) Department lodged a complaint with the police.
According to Verna police, the offence was registered following a complaint filed by Yatish Kothambikar, Draftsman Grade II, attached to the Office of the Deputy Town Planner, Mormugao Taluka, Town and Country Planning Department, Vasco.
In his complaint, Kothambikar stated that on January 14, Ravi Kholi of Arossim-Falvaddo, allegedly carried out land filling activities in a property at Arossim, without obtaining the mandatory approvals and permissions from the Chief Town and Country Planner.
Acting on the complaint, Verna police registered an offence under Section 17-A of the Town and Country Planning Act against the accused.
Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Carey Fernandes of Verna Police Station under the supervision of PI Anand Shirodkar and the guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam.
