Man booked for outraging modesty of Canadian woman

Canacona police registered an offence against a domestic tourist, after he was accused of outraging the modesty of a Canadian woman at Palolem beach on Monday evening.

According to Canacona 
police, the Canadian national, presently staying at Canacona, was lying in an open area at Palolem beach, when she was molested by a person, identified as Somnath Dey from Ghole District of West Bengal.  
In her complaint, the woman informed police that the tourist from West Bengal had twice pulled her trouser while she was sleeping in an open area on the beach, thereby outraging her modesty.  
Acting on the complaint, Canacona police registered an offence against Somnath Dey under Section 354 of Indian Penal Code and further investigation is being carried out by Police Sub-Inspector Damodar Shirodkar under the supervision of Police Inspector Philomeno Costa.
