A man hailing from Jharkhand and residing at Adkon-Banastarim has been booked by Mardol police on charges of abetment in the suicide of his wife.
Purnima Dubey (28) had ended her life in a rented room on May 5 over alleged dowry harassment by her husband Sujitkumar Dubey.
Ponda Deputy Collector Shubham Naik had investigated the matter as the death had taken place after three years of marriage. A complaint was duly filed at the Mardol police station on Sunday as investigations had revealed that the husband had allegedly harassed his wife for dowry.
PSI Rashmi Bhaidkar is investigating the matter under the guidance of Police Inspector Yogesh Sawant.
