MAPUSA: Shobhavati Chodankar was elected unopposed as deputy sarpanch of Marna-Siolim panchayat on Monday.
At a special meeting, those presenton the occasion included Sarpanch Sandesh Hadfadkar, Panchas Abhay Shirodkar, Fermina Fernandes, William Fernandes, Sharmila Vernekar, Amit Morajkar, and Manorama Govekar.
The post had fallen vacant since the last one month following the resignation of Manorama Govekar as part of an agreement.
BDO Extension Officer Shirish Kumar Tari conducted the election and he was assisted by Panchayat Secretary Dheeraj Govekar.
