MARGAO: A Margao resident, Mohammed Mohammed Rihan Kittur, has complained that he was cheated of Rs 1.42 lakh on the promise of being paid for completing online tasks. In his complaint, Rihan stated that on August 3, an unknown person contacted him on his mobile phone and offered him online tasks involving rating and posting reviews of hotels and restaurants in return for money. He stated that the accused later induced him to transfer Rs 1.42 lakh through several transactions for further tasks and trading activities. However, the accused failed to provide the promised returns, thereby cheating him.
