The Maina-Curtorim police have detained a manin connection with the alleged manufacture of ghee from animal fat at hisresidence in Santimol, Raia.
According to the police, Bhagwan Redkarapproached the Maina-Curtorim police station and reported that Hidar Bepari wasallegedly manufacturing ghee from animal fat at his residence.
Following the complaint, PSI Narayan Pinge,accompanied by Redkar, visited the premises to verify the allegation. Thepolice said they found Bepari allegedly engaged in the preparation of ghee fromanimal fat. During verification, they also found that he did not possess avalid permission or licence from the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) tocarry out the activity.
The matter was subsequently brought to thenotice of the FDA, which was requested to take necessary action. An FDA teamvisited the premises, collected samples of the suspected product forexamination and sealed the remaining raw material and product found there, asper the prescribed procedure.
The police later brought Bepari to the policestation and placed him under preventive detention.
