A 36-year-old man from Socorro died of electrocution at Ambekhand-Verem on Thursday evening.
According to reports, the incident took place as Ravi Biradar had gone to meet his mother at her home. Biradar's elderly mother lives alone in Ambekhand while he was residing with his wife and their two children in Socorro.
While at her house, Biradar accidentally came into contact with live wires near the door of the house and received a severe shock. He fell on the ground and the mother raised an alarm, alerting neighbours who rushed to the site.
Biradar was shifted to the GMC hospital in Bambolim, but doctors there declared him dead on arrival. Porvorim PSI Akash Chodankar conducted a panchnama and investigations are in progress.
