Man duped of Rs 1.36 cr in land deal in Betim

Porvorim police has registered an FIR against two persons on charges of cheating a person to the tune of Rs 1.36 crore in a land purchase deal at Betim.

In his complaint, Pankaj Dayal of New Delhi stated that the two accused, Yogesh Gupta and Rajan Jindal, had allegedly convinced him to invest funds in a construction firm to the tune of 1.36 crore to purchase property in Betim.

Accordingly, Dayal stated that he had transferred Rs 1.36 crore in the account of the company of the accused to purchase the property.

Jindal purchased the property by executing the sale deed dated September 6, 2006, but allegedly failed to transfer the property in the name of the complainant nor returned the money invested in the company of the accused, thereby cheating the complainant of Rs 1.36 crore.

Porvorim Police have registered an offence under Sections 420, 560 (ii) read with 34 of Indian Penal code and PI Anant Gaonkar is investigating the case.
