Porvorim police has booked a man from Alto-Porvorim on charges of duping a person to the tune of Rs 40 lakh in connection with a plot of land belonging to the Serula Comunidade.
Atmaram Janardan Vengulekar, a native of Narve but presently residing at government quarters in Alto Porvorim, filed a complaint with Porvorim Police stating that the accused, Rajesh Narvekar, fraudulently and with the intention of cheating him took Rs 40 lakh from him on different occasions between May 15, 2018 and November 2, 2023, on the pretext of giving him plot of the Serula comunidade.
Vengulekar claimed that till date the accused had neither given him the plot of land nor has he returned to him the cash of Rs 40 lakh, thereby cheating him.
Porvorim Police has registered the offence against Narvekar under Section 420 of IPC and PSI Sanket Talkar is investigating the case.
