In a tragic incident, a 31-year-old man from Cunchelim was killed after he reportedly lost control of his motorcycle on a slope, came crashing down and fell in a roadside ditch late Thursday night.
The youth identified as Mehmood Khan Pathan suffered grievous head injuries and was declared dead at the North Goa District Hospital in Mapusa.
The victim was a resident of Cunchelim, Mapusa and had been into fruit selling business in the Mapusa sub-yard.
Mapusa Police informed that the youth was coming to Mapusa and on reaching the Dattawadi slope reportedly lost balance, fell on the road and was dragged a couple of metres before hitting the roadside ditch.
On getting information, a 108 ambulance rushed to the spot and shifted the youth to the North Goa District Hospital, where the doctors pronounced him dead.
Police have conducted the panchanama and sent the body for post mortem to the Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim.
