Man ends life in Kudne

A 54-year-old man from Karmali-Kudne in Bicholim taluka ended his life by jumping into a mining pit on Thursday morning.

The body of Ramesh Naik was later retrieved by naval divers on Friday evening.

According to people close to him, Naik had been very upset due to unemployment, and police found a suicide note at the site. The body has been sent to GMC hospital at Bambolim for an autopsy and Bicholim police are investigating the case.

CANACONAAn 84-year-old man from Cotigao was reportedly gored to death by a Gaur (Indian bison) in Cotigao on Wednesday.According to sources, the incident took place as Nagu Janu Velip of Avali-Cotigao had gone to the nearby bushes outside the Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary to collect fodder for his cattle.The man is believed to have been mauled by a Gaur in the vicinity and died at the site.When contacted, neither Cotigao Wildlife officials nor the Territorial Forest officials…
