Vasco Police have arrested a Dabolim resident for allegedly attempting to steal an iron crane component from a construction site near Vishal Mega Mart in Dabolim.
According to police, complainant Harjit Singh, a Punjab native residing in Dabolim, reported that the accused, identified as Ismail Rehman Raichur of Dabolim, allegedly tried to steal a 3-kg iron pin from the toolbox of a parked crane at the under-construction road overbridge site on July 19 at around 9 pm.
Based on the complaint, Vasco Police registered an offence under Sections 303(2) and 62 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and arrested the accused.
Further investigation is being carried out by Head Constable Devidas Palyekar of Vasco Police Station under the supervision of Police Inspector Vaibhav Naik and guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam.
