Man rendered homeless shifted to charity home in Quepem

SANGUEM

A 52-year-old man, Raghu Talgaonkar, was shifted to the St Joseph Home in Quepem on Wednesday after his mud house in Kurpem-Netravali was destroyed by heavy rains and winds.

Suffering from a paralytic attack and living alone, he had sought temporary shelter with neighbours for the past three days.

Local villager Ajit Kurdikar and others provided him with food.

Recognising his vulnerable condition, the Sanguem Mamlatdar and Deputy Collector intervened and arranged his relocation after police formalities were completed.

The Mamlatdar has assured him of necessary government assistance to help restore his home.
