Annual celebration Mandala-Makaravilakku festival at Vasco Sree Ayyappa Temple will be commenced from Saturday, November 17. This two months long festivities at the temple will conclude on January 14 with Makara vilakku. This will be followed by the Annual Utsavam from January 14 to 21.
The important days during the Mandalam period are Nov 12 (first day of Mandalam) , Nov 28 (Mandalam 12th day) and December 27 (41st day of Mandalam). Akhanda Naama Japam will be held on December 9 morning from 7.15 hrs .
‘Ayyappan Vilakku’, a colourful function of with art and culture will be conducted from Dec 12 from 7.30 pm till 5 am of next morning. Prior to this ‘Udukkil Melam’ will be staged on December 11 for the first time in Goa in the evening after Aarathi by Machadu Subrhamannian.
Various stage programmes are also arranged during the period which includes a bhajan by Chennai Bhajan Sangam on Nov 17, musical concert by Sruti Soundarya on Nov 18 and musical programme by Leshma Mohandas and party on Nov 28 will be performed evening after Aarathi.
The Ayappa Temple committee has informed that the annual event of conducting Kettunira, Annadanam and Sabariyatra will be held on Sunday December 16. There will be Bhajan and Swami Biksha on all days in the evening.
