Mandrem MLA Dayanand Sopte on Thursday said a new 30 MLD water treatment plant would be set up in Mandrem constituency at a cost of Rs 65 crore.
Sopte was addressing a gathering after laying the foundation stone for the construction of a new water tank at Tuem, to be built at a cost of Rs 1.65 crore.
Those present at the function included Tuem Sarpanch Suhas Naik, Panch Kavita Harijan, Panch Kishor Naik, BJP Block President Madhu Parab, PWD engineer Sandip Morajkar and others.
"Water scarcity is almost everywhere. This tank is a temporary resolution for water problems in Tuem. Soon, there will be a new 30 MLD water treatment plant to resolve water issues in the Mandrem constituency. The new project will cost Rs 65 crore," said Sopte. Sarpanch Naik and Panch Kishor Naik also spoke at the event.
