Tilottama Gopal Naik from Cuncoliem-Ponda told the Ponda Police that about 37 persons set her vehicle on fire at Mangeshi late Thursday evening and claimed loss of Rs 9 lakh.
“I was proceeding towards my residence at Cuncoliem when the accused formed an unlawful assembly and started charging towards my vehicle.”
“Sensing danger, my driver took the vehicle in a property and we ran to jungle area to save our life, after abandoning the vehicle, which the accused persons set on fire,” the complaint states.
Naik further stated that the mob threatened to kill her husband, Gopal Naik.
Ponda Police were in the process to register the case.
