In an effort to make healthcare services more accessible Manipal Hospitals Goa unveiled a Super Speciality OPD clinic in Margao.
Renowned surgeon Dr V V Kamat inaugurated the clinic in the presence of Manish Trivedi, Hospital Director, Manipal Hospitals Goa, Dr Dinesh B Bammidi, Medical superintendent, Dr Deepak Kamat, physician and proprietor of KCRC’s Horizon ICU & Hospital, Dr Mahadeva Swamy B C Consultant-Bone Marrow Transplantation, Hematology, Hemato-Oncology, Dr Safal S Shetty Consultant- Neurologist, Dr Gunjan Baijal Consultant (Radiation Oncology) Cancer Care Dr Eugene Rent Consultant Surgical Oncology, Cancer Care Dr Sabyasachi Mukhopadhyay Consultant Cardiologist and Dr.Rohan Desai- Consultant, Joint Replacement surgeon.
The OPD clinic will offer consultations for bone marrow transplantation, hemato oncology, radiation oncology and surgical oncology for cancer care. In addition, cardiac and orthopaedic consultations will be offered as well by the expert doctors of Manipal Hospitals Goa.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr V V Kamat said, “I congratulate Manipal Hospitals Goa for this thoughtful initiative for the people of South Goa. Healthcare and wellness are very important aspects of our lives and therefore it is important to have access to quality healthcare services and doctors. I am confident that this Super Speciality OPD clinic will prove to be a boon for the people and my good wishes are with the hospital for this endeavour.”
Sharing his thoughts on the occasion, Manish Trivedi said, “We are delighted to launch the OPD clinic in South Goa as we are committed to offering medical care to our patrons. There would be regular monthly OPDs, the centre would also facilitate appointments and registrations for patients. The Manipal Hospitals Goa outreach clinic will be a single point for South Goa patients and shall bring the rich lineage of the Manipal closer to the needy patients.”
The inauguration was attended by Dr Shekhar Salkar-HOD Oncology Dept and Senior Consultant Oncology Surgeon at Manipal Hospitals Goa, who said, “We are happy to offer a wide range of cancer and cardiac and orthopaedic consultations for the people of South Goa. As the incidences of these lifestyle diseases are growing it is important to go for timely check-ups.”
