MAPUSA
Fearing arrest, Hanumantray Biradar, who has been accused of illegally practicing as a medical doctor in
Mapusa has moved for anticipatory bail.
The anticipatory bail hearing will come up for hearing in the Additional District and Sessions court in Mapusa on Monday.
Biradar, who has been allegedly practicing medicine with a fabricated Medical Council of India (MCI) registration certificate, has been evading the cops since his consultancy was raided by Mapusa police on Monday (March 12).
Mapusa Police have also visited his Porvorim house, but the accused was not available at his residence.
Police sources informed that the address provided by family members of the
alleged fake doctor has been misleading.
It may be recalled acting on a complaint of the Goa Medical Council, Registrar, Govind Nasnodkar, Mapusa Police had raided Biradar’s consultancy opposite the Jama Masjid in Angod, Mapusa.
A case has been registered against Biradar under section 465, 468 and 471 for forgery and 420 for cheating of the IPC and Section 27 under the Goa Medical Council Act 2005.
Biradar has a flourishing practice in Mapusa and in the past similar raids had come to naught due to his political connections.
It may be recalled former president of Goa Medical Council, Dr Shekar Salkar had also lodged a complaint against Biradar at Mapusa Police Station in January.
