Mapusa bus stand gets C1 zone

MAPUSA: Mapusa Municipal Council (MMC) Chairperson Sandip Falari has stated that the proposed Kadamba bus stand at Mapusa has received clearance from North Goa Planning and Development Authority to be classified as a C1 zone.

“A resolution demanding a change in the Mapusa bus stand from 'transport zone' to 'C1 zone' was given to the NGPDA following a council meeting a few months ago. Accepting our proposal, NGPDA has converted this proposed land as 'C1 zone' in its last meeting,” informed Falari.

Under its earlier classification as 'transport zone' in the city's OPD, the Floor Area Ratio (FAR) was 60 per cent and the height of the structure was a maximum of 9 metres. Under the C1 zone, the bus stand will now have a FAR of 200 per cent and the project can attain a maximum height of 23 meters.

Meanwhile, the government has decided to construct the proposed bus stand and parking on a Public Private Project (PPP) basis.
