MAPUSA
Expressing concern over the spike in Covid cases, Mapusa MLA Joshua D’Souza on Thursday expressed apprehension that people may not come out to vote.
“We are concerned that people may not come out to vote due to increase in Covid cases. But we cannot stop the election. It has been delayed for long,” D’Souza said.
He also said that there was not enough time to campaign for the candidates.
“Council elections is a different ball game altogether. We need to micro-manage things. If only I could get a little more time,” he said.
Former chairperson and de facto leader of the opposition panel Mhapshekarancho Ekvott, Sudhir Kandolkar expressed satisfaction with the campaigning.
“Some of our candidate completed two to three rounds in the wards. We are sitting pretty and expect good results,” Kandolkar said.
He alleged that the BJP was promising jobs in their campaign.
