Gloved up and broom in hands, the Mapusa MLA, Chairperson and the civic staff carried a token one-hour cleanliness drive at the Mapusa bus stand on Friday.
Soon after paying respects to the Mahatma on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanthi, Mapusa MLA Joshua D'Souza, MMC Chairperson Ryan Braganza, MMC Chief Officer Kabir Shirgaonkar, councilors and the municipality staff descended on the city bus-stand to clean up the area.
"The cleanliness is part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan launched by the government six years ago," said Tushar Tople, councillor.
