Mapusa Police solved a theft case within 24 hours by arresting three burglars with some of the stolen goods.
The thieves had broken into some offices including a cooperative society at Rizim Plaza, Mapusa.
The accused are identified as Ramesh Sattya (37), a resident of Bijapur, Karnataka, Sanjay Bane (26) of Latur, Maharashtra and Mohammad Shaikh (28) of Gadag, Karnataka.
All three were rounded up from the vicinity of the Mapusa bus stand.
Police recovered three mobiles and Rs 15,000 cash from the accused.
Police said a written complaint was received from Babal Dhargalkar from Shetya-Vaddo, Mapusa that an unknown person affected an entry into his office premises and three others on the second floor of Rizim Plaza near the Mapusa market and decamped with three mobile phones and case totalling to about Rs 70,000.
Acting on the complaint, police registered a case against the accused under Sections 457 and 380 of the IPC.
During the course of the investigation, a team of Mapusa Police got some actionable leads that finally led them to arrest the three accused.
Further investigation is underway.
