The District and Sessions Court at Merces has granted bail to 22-year-old Mapusa resident Prajyot Satyaprakash Varma in an NCB narcotics case registered under Sections 28 and 29 of the NDPS Act.
Varma argued that no narcotic substance was recovered from him and his arrest was based primarily on information provided by a co-accused. He contended that there was no direct recovery or independent evidence linking him to the alleged offence.
Section 28 deals with attempts to commit offences, while Section 29 covers abetment and criminal conspiracy under the Act.
