Perhaps for the first time since the second Covid wave hit the state, the number of cases in the Margao Urban Health Centre fell below the 1500-figure mark on Tuesday.
Also for the first time since admissions began coming down last week, the number of vacant beds available at the South Goa district hospital and ESI hospital, Margao, has crossed the 300-figure.
A glance at the health bulletin released on Tuesday revealed that the active number of cases in the Margao UH came down to 1480 on Tuesday. The number of active cases in the Margao UHC was pegged at 1588 on Monday, indicating a decline of 108.
While a total of 233 beds were available at the South Goa district hospital, another 70 beds were available in the ESI hospital on Tuesday evening. ESI hospital Medical Superintendent Dr Vishwajit Faldesai informed that around 163 patients are presently admitted to the hospital.
