The hustle and bustle returned back at the Margao KTC bus stand refurbished with a fresh coat of hot mix and a new bus shelter, thanks to the February 6 Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Viksit Bharat Viksit Goa rally.
While both intra-State and Mumbai-bound buses have started operations are back at the KTC bus stand after a week-long shifting to the temporary stand near the Ravindra Bhavan, Margao, a huge cut out of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is still standing tall outside the bus stand as if to remind the people that the KTC bus stand has been spruced up because of the PM’s visit to address the rally.
Bus operators, both intra-State and Mumbai buses, pointed out that they had been looking forward for the repair and hot mixing of the bus stand for the last several months. “Though we have to face some hardships on account of the shifting of the bus stand in view of the PM’s visit for the Viksit Bharat Viksit Goa rally, the bus stand has now finally received much-needed hot mix coat,” remarked a bus operator.
The bus operator further said that the government has spruced up the bus shed, perhaps for the first time since the shed was installed around four decades ago. In view of the PM’s Viksit Bharat Viksit Goa rally at the KTC bus stand, the government had replaced the damaged asbestos sheets of the shed with galvanised sheets.
The government has hot mixed the entire KTC bus stand area by spending an amount of Rs 70 lakh.
