OLD GOA
AAP leader Ramrao Wagh has questioned the use of non-traditional methods in the repair of breach in Azossim bundh even as the rubbles used for the same washed away, on Friday.
Speaking to The Goan, Wagh pointed out that the repairs of the bundhs have to be taken up in the traditional way with the use of clay from the khazans as it helps in strengthening the bundhs.
“However, today the contractor is using non-traditional method of using mud and rubbles for the repairs, which is resulting in the same not holding up against the strong current of the water,” Wagh stated and urged that the authorities concerned should look into the matter and ensure that only traditional methods are used in repair of bundhs.
“And even if the contractor is successful in repairing the bundh, it won’t last for long,” Wagh opined.
