While three of the fast food gaddas were reportedly operating without the municipal license, one of the kiosk was in possession of license, but to operate around the Khareband area of the city.
Margao Municipal Chairperson Babita Angle Prabhudesai informed that she has issued clear cut directions to the Chief Officer Agnelo Fernandes and the Municipal administration to crack a whip against the illegalities.
"We have received a number of complaints that illegal gaddas and kiosks selling fast food items have increased in the city. This is just the beginning. The Municipal administration has decided to crack a whip against all unauthorized and illegal fast food gaddas in the city," the chairperson said.
A Municipal team headed by Sanitary inspector Viraj Arabekar and market inspectors along with
workers headed to the ring road junction after office hours and effected the seizure of the gaddas.
The Margao police also deputed its personnel to assist the Munciipal team as a precautionary measure and to avert any law and order
problem.
