Margao police register cheating case against Delhi native

The Margao Police on Thursday registered a case of cheating against Manoj Kumar, a native of Uttam Nagar, Delhi for allegedly inducing a group of job seekers to pay an amount of Rs 7.78 lakh on the pretext of providing them jobs in Kuwait, Dubai, Muscat and other countries.

The police on Thursday received a complaint from 22-year-old Sushant Kadam, a resident of Veroda-Cuncolim, stating that the accused Manoj induced him to pay an amount of Rs 23,500 and 36 others, all amounting to Rs 7.78 lakh on the promise of providing them jobs in the Gulf countries.  

In his complaint, Kadam had stated that the youth had paid the amount to Manoj between September 29, 2018 till date, but the accused failed to provide the promised jobs.  

Margao PI Kapil Nayak informed that the police registered a case against Manoj Kumar since his whereabouts were not known since the last two days. The police is investigating.
