MARGAO
The PWD, National Highways have got down to the task of filling pot holes and craters on roads in Margao.

Motorists, however, have demanded that the PWD, National highway and the government take immediate measures to restore the condition of the road, which has become unmotorable with the top layer literally non-existent.

In fact, loose black metal strewn on the road is a common sight, with motorist complaining the situation is posing danger for smooth vehicular movement.

The road from Club Harmonia to the Old Collectorate, besides the stretch near the Margao post office needs a concrete solution other than filling pot holes. “The PWD may fill up the craters and pot holes visible along the stretch. What about the situation at some places, where the road has become unmotorable with two-wheelers running the risk of skidding with their vehicles”, a motorist contended.

With the rains subsiding in the last three days, the PWD, NH officials need to unveil the plan of action how to restore the road around the MMC garden before any major accident takes place on the stretch.

In fact, during the sunny weather conditions on Saturday and Sunday, motorists and establishment owners complained of dust pollution along the stretch. In fact, it was suggested that the PWD sweep the roads to remove the loose black metal and gravel scattered along the damaged roads.
